As usual, we are very busy at Windsor Jewelers and the fall 2017 season is no exception. In September we welcomed Hermès timepieces into our Winston-Salem store and October brings our famous (or infamous) Watchtoberfest!
We get very excited when we start new partnerships and Hermès Paris is certainly a brand to get excited about. The Hermès Fashion House was established in Paris as a harness-making shop in 1837. The leatherwork and exceptional saddle stitch were renowned and appreciated by European royalty and noblemen. Hermès Paris introduced watches in the 1920s and the Duc carriage and horse logo reminds everyone that Hermès was once a saddle store and is now the world’s most aspired luxury brand.
The Hermès Cape Cod watches for men feature a rectangular stainless steel case, with multiple dial options and interchangeable straps. Described by Hermès as “timeless yet whimsical”, the Cape Cod watch is in a class of its own. Its case is a square inside a rectangle and the style of the numbers is a new take on the Chaîne d’Ancre pattern.
Equally popular is the incredibly iconic and desirable Kelly “padlock” watch. In 1975, the padlock clasp on Hermès’ legendary Kelly bag became a timepiece of the same name. Since then, this detachable padlock watch has made it possible to wear time on the wrist or anywhere else you desire.
Visit Windsor Jewelers in Winston-Salem to see these iconic watches and the other Hermès Paris watch collections. You can also see them at our annual Watchtoberfest celebration in Winston-Salem on Thursday, October 5th. It’s our 4th year for this annual event and always promises to be a fun evening.
With representatives from so many watch brands and a special display showcasing the TAG Heuer 01 and 02 Tourbillion, it will be sensory overload for the local watch lover. New this year, in addition to the prodigious watch brands represented, Ippolita will be here with an expanded collection of her handmade, fashion-forward and colorful multi-faceted stone bracelets, necklaces, and rings in silver and gold.
What better way to spend an October evening than at Windsor Jewelers enjoying the finest luxury Swiss timepieces and authentic German ale and fare? Watchtoberfest is on Thursday, October 5th in Winston-Salem and Saturday, October 7th in Charlotte. Lederhosen not required to attend!
Prost! – Ben
